Yurma and Sarah Mardini, sisters from Syria, are swimmers who have a lot riding on them. Many competitions and championships are won by girls. They have now passed a special selection and have been chosen as the main contenders for a trip to the Olympic Games on behalf of the Motherland. Any athlete’s main goal is to win there. But it will not be so simple to come true. Syria is also embroiled in major military operations. Terrorists terrorise the entire population, including the sports elite. They oppose the occupied territories’ participation in international competitions. They realise that the only way to survive and compete in the Olympics is to flee the country. So they embark on a perilous journey. To get to their destination, they must cross the Mediterranean in a regular boat. They are only assisted in this by a cousin and their own support for one another.
