Review of the movie American Carnage 2022
This movie is about the United States of America and its atrocious treatment of immigrants. American Carnage’s opening minutes swell in a crescendo of Latin misery, beginning with a montage of real-world news clips of detention camps and right-wing pundits’ dehumanising invectives. It all comes to a head with an excerpt from Donald Trump’s inauguration speech, which serves as the film’s title. The story then begins at a burger joint, where all of this hatred is grilled up into horror-comedy metaphor, having set the stage with its Fox News Greek chorus.
